I started using Ember about 2 weeks ago, my previous accountants were very expensive and not as dedicated. I moved from an old school type of accountancy to a lean and agile company. Ember is great from a human point of view, as you are assigned an accountant who cares about your finances and is very knowledgable. Moreover, from a technical point of view, they offer an app that allows a lot of automation in the usual accounting tasks. You can also connect most bank accounts to interact with the app, like Revolut, Starling or Monzo and that makes the difference. I used to use a bank which transfers took days to process. Ember is a new company which offers very competitive pricing for the quality it offers, most things are done using Software and that really makes the difference as you see your balance sheets updating in real-time. I'm very happy to be part of their journey and I can only strongly recommend them to any limited company.

Being a Designer, I want things to work intuitively, cleanly and with as little number crunching for my creative brain as possible.Ember has provided me with more up-front accounting advice and face-to-face tutorials in the last 3 weeks, than I have ever received in the last 3 years at my previous accountant. Dan has made it his mission to guide the transition from my old accountant to Ember as seamlessly as possible, whilst providing a clean new system that gives me a current view of my transactions, whilst allowing more control over my accounts.I couldn't be more happy switching over to Ember and I highly recommend them to any and everyone I know!

The app itself is pretty good- when compared to Clearbooks which I was using, it's a decade ahead. Much cleaner & easier to use, which makes sense since it's tailored to contractors and doesn't overwhelm users with unneeded jargon. I also like the easy bank integration.The real game changer is the team behind it. I'm on the Flame plan, which includes an accountant, and he's been quick & on point every time. Previous accountants I've dealt with where so vague I just avoided dealing with them as much as possible, to the point that I'd rather not optimise my taxes than call them. This guy understands the users' perspective & addresses it directly instead of copying over some HMRC guideline.I haven't stopped ranting about this service to my freelancer & contractor friends. Nor do I intend to. Seriously, try the 1 month trial. You won't be going back.

I started using Ember about three weeks ago. I've looked for a new accountant for a while, but didn't find anyone who wouldn't charge crazy fees and integrate with Monzo Business. Ember made it easy to move over to them, gave me a personal onboarding, and their software is much nicer than anything I've used before.While there is still work to be done on the app, after hearing about their roadmap and seeing the current state of the product, I was confident moving to Ember instead of my old accountant.Ember is a new company, and I am happy to be one of their early customers. I think the business has a bright future ahead, otherwise I wouldn't have moved my company to them, and I'm excited to see what else is in store in the future.

A value-focused alternative for traditional overpriced contractor accountants.I was looking for an alternative to an accountant who really did zero for the £95pm I was paying. I did everything myself via an online portal and they didn't offer Open Banking integration so I couldn't link my Starling account - meaning more manual inputting. It was also very difficult to get hold of them, and when I could, I was spoken to in a robotic fashion and left feeling like I was just a number.Ember is a great new startup providing a modern, clean UI and functional product geared towards contractors. It is backed by 2 rounds of funding, has an active development roadmap and is very open to listening to feedback and any suggestions. This assured me that this is a platform worth being a part of. My transition across has been handled by the very helpful and knowledgeable Dan, Ember's CEO, and I have been very happy with the new setup. He really empathised with the issues I had with my previous accountants, having been there himself; and being one of the main reasons for setting up Ember. I'm positive during the free month's trial, after experiencing how simple and easy it is to use the app along with all the functionality a contractor needs, you won't go back to the traditional type of accountant. You are missing out if you don't at least try it!
